Concerned Mother of an Inmate
I am a concerned mother of an inmate that has been sexual Abuse, mental abuse and the justice system has been mistreating him since the age of 17 when my son was a straight A student and had no record at all. He made one mistake in is hold life. I am a single mother of 4 children. I have a 36yr old Down son. A 31yr son in prison, and 2 daughters 26, 27. I have struggle all my life to be a good mom having a disable child made my son try to become the oldest to take care of his siblings.
My son has been put in the system by his past. Before he went to prison this last time he started his own clothing line King star, he help raised money for a batter women shelter for clothes for them and their children, and food gifts for them for the holidays, toys for Christmas. Food for Thanksgiving he had changed. He wanted to make a change but prison had a different ideal to break this young black man, they couldn’t let him stay on the streets they took him from his daughter, his mother and his family. Now he in one of the worst prison in the state of Nevada Ely State prison wear he been beat up brutally an torcher, an now he fears for his life with the constantly fear the Co’s are going to come an kill him at any time of day he not sleeping or eating he been on suicide watch from the mistreatment. They took a 14 months sentence an turn it into a 3yr sentence just torcher him. As his mother I live in fear, every time the phone ring, I am scare someone going to tell me that my son is dead. A mother worst fear I don’t believe In the justice system they don’t care about your love ones. An they act like the Co,s aren’t cruel to the inmates an like they hate their jobs an an take your loves any time they won’t. My son is in prison for a fight with his on step brother an because he was a felon they just took him an throw him back in prison like he’s nothing but a number but he means the world to us. For all the Mothers that have sons or daughter in prison they are not alone.

I’m sorry to hear of tour grief and concern ….I know you feel like you’re fighting a one woman war against the world ..nothing you say and not much you can do just don;t give up which i can tel by your letter that won’t happen…ca;; the Governor of the state he’s incarcerated in make all the abuse be know call the prison demand to speak to the Warden sounds like you need to go to the top of management. No matter how big or how small the crime he committed was hes still human and humans are not to be treated like animals ….write to the judge that put him there … i no it sounds like nothing is going to do any good but there’s not a who;e lot you can do just keep pushing till somebody realizes you’re not going down without a hellova fight, i can only imagine how you feel honey the man i love dearly is in prison but thank god there’s no sexual abuse or beating or fighting going on …..i pray for you and your son that he will be ok and your night mare will soon be over and he can come home to his family…God Bless You All…..Sincerely Cynthia
